Their clients include Dana Barrett who notices that the eggs in her kitchen are frying themselves. Her next-door neighbor, notices horrifying monsters in the apartment hallways. They both apparently live in a building that serves as a conduit to the other world. The ghostbusters ride to the rescue, armed with nuclear-powered backpacks. However, their old friend Dana Barrett visits Egon Spengler and voices her fears that something supernatural was after her beloved child Oscar. They discover a pneumatic transit line tunnel full of ectoplasmic “slime.” Later, the slime invades Dana's apartment and attacks her and Oscar. When investigating the slime, the Ghostbusters discover that the slime reacts to emotions, and suspect that it has been generated by New Yorker's negative attitudes.
